ADVOCACY
CSB advocates for the following initiatives on behalf of its members:
CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANISATIONS (CSO) BILL
CSB is advocating for enactment of the Civil Society Organisations (CSO) Bill. Since 2010 we have been actively involved in the drafting of the bill which provides significant advantages to our members. Now that the bill is tabled for legislation, our next step is to advocate for its enactment in Law.

NATIONAL ELECTORAL REFORM (NER) CAMPAIGN
CSB is advocating for the fairness of our electoral processes, to set international standards of transparency in the political process, to mobilize thousands of citizens to push for the enactment of NER, and to encourage the best of our citizens to participate in the electoral process. FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR CSB MEMBERS
CSB is lobbying for financial support for its members primarily through the enactment of the CSO Bill . We are also advocating for financial support for CSB members from the Private Sector, Inter-Governmental Agencies and International Foundations.

ACCESS TO FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
There are regular funding opportunities that we are privy to that we circulate to our members. The Inter American Development Bank (IDB), the Commonwealth Foundation, The Organisation of American States (OAS), The United Nations, Caricom, The European union as well as the US Embassy have many grant writing opportunitIes for you to take advantage of.
ACCESS TO CSB RESOURCES AND MEMBERS
Our members have access to several strategic planning tools for CSOs. Whether you are looking for strategic planning and board development tools, fundraising and event planning tools, employee development tools, or grant-writing tools, we have a list of vetted resources for you.
CSB has within its membership considerable years of experience in the non-profit CSO arena in The Bahamas, which in and of itself is a tremendous resource especially for new CSOs. CSB provides for CSOs to interact, partner, and collaborate on any number of issues.
ACCESS TO LOCAL, INTERNATIONAL CSO NEWS AND EVENTS
With its access to International agencies like the United Nations, OAS, CARICOM, Commonwealth Foundation and others, CSB is constantly receiving information from these organizations that we make accessible to our members.
LINKS TO REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CSO AGENCIES
Over the years CSB has partnered and collaborated with regional and international agencies. Each year these agencies convene international civil society for a where participants are invited from around the world. As members of CSB you would be asked to represent the organization from time to time at these meetings, expanding your personal understanding of these organizations, increasing your international connections.

OPPORTUNITY TO INPUT INTO ISSUES OF NATIONAL IMPORT
Civil Society Bahamas is connected with a number of international organizations and is called upon by the Government of The Bahamas to give advice and present reports on issues of national import. We are also conversant with treaties and conventions signed on by the Government of The Bahamas. As a member of CSB you will be invited to these meetings and updated on their outcomes.
OPPORTUNITY FOR INVOLVEMENT IN NATIONAL PROJECTS
CSB, as the national CSO umbrella organization, is mandated to address national issues. As a member, each of you have specific concerns; concerns that will be brought to the national awareness as a result of your lobbying within the organization. Your passion will guide you to the committee of your choice that focuses on the issues that are important to you.
